This was a special project for my good friend John Judd. He does own & has owned many a guitar through the years but he needed both the bond & the inspiration that comes with that special "one". He needed one that would make him wanna get home to play,,the one he would think about even when he wasn't holding her & I do believe this is it! It was built from scratch with all new parts. The body & neck are from USA Custom Guitars in WA. This is an awesome 1 piece alder body, just a hair under 4 lbs. John's fave neck was sent out to USACG to be spec'ed & they duplicated it exactly. The nitro two tone burst was applied then aged as was the neck. The best part of this project is that this guitar SO has that vintage strat sound. Lindy Fralin pups & a Callaham trem bridge & block coupled with the tonally superb piece of alder that Tommy selected for me as well as my own personal "mojo" : ) all helped shape it into a proclaimed "lifetime keeper" for John. I just recently finished this one so I am still having some separation anxiety!! |

This strat was the example John decided captured the general feel he wanted for his project. I didn't want to mimic it, just tried to capture a similar essence. |
