This is an original '58 Tele that had been re-finned at some point ala "Muddy Waters" with an enamel paint. I stripped the red enamel, sanded away what remained as best I could while still preserving all original edges & contours. I went with a slightly higher opaque percentage than usual to help mask the remaining stains & darkened areas of the original wood. The old guard was swapped for a period correct one & the body & guard were aged to better match the all original neck. This body took on a whole new vibe sporting the more authentic looking blonde finish & I loved working with this old "girl"... |
